Welcome to the Blackburn with Darwen Including Men Network

- Does your service work with fathers, male carers and their families?
- Are you involved in the development or implementation of policy or strategies in Blackburn with Darwen that affect fathers and families?
- Are you involved in the recruitment or training of workers in Children’s Services?
As part of the ongoing programme of change to develop an integrated, borough-wide approach to developing services which meet the needs of fathers and male carers, Children’s Services have been working in partnership with Children North East Fathers Plus to provide free training places and events for the children’s workforce .

During 2008-2010 the network will hold network meetings and provide support to services in the borough. A series of short introductory workshops,
training sessions and the
Developing Men Friendly Organisations Programme will run and settings can access free
resources to support male engagement.
The calendar below holds details of scheduled events in the borough or you can phone the helpline on 01254 916 109.
This group has been set up to include practitioners, managers and policy makers from early years, health, education and other settings in the faith, voluntary, statutory and private sectors to provide a forum where workers and managers can come together, share and develop evidence based practice and work together.
It provides a focus for managers and practitioners to feed into and respond to the way the borough incorporates changes in national policy into its policies and practices right across Children's Services.
You can use the links to add details to the
knowledge bank about any projects or events which have something to offer fathers and male carers in the borough.
To join this group click on the link on the right hand side of the page (you will need to be registered/logged in to the website first). Once you have joined the group you will be able to share news, documents and events with other members of the group.
