The theme of the meeting is Mental health and Fatherhood and we hope you will all make the most of the opportunity to network with other workers with an interest in this area of work. The North East Fatherwork Forum is a free networking organisation supported by Children North East Fatherhood Centre
The next meeting of the North East Father Work Forum will be held on 4th December 2006, on the theme of 'Mental Health and Fatherhood'
The meeting will be held in Newcastle at the new Nunsmoor Childrens Centre in Fenham. The centre is due to open on 1st December - further details will follow to confirm venue and directions.
Guest Speaker Phil Heslop of Foster Care Associates and the National Autistic Society will be talking on the theme of Foster Fathers.
Workers are invited to bring along examples of good practice, training and resources they have come across as well as share knowledge on the theme of Fathers and Mental Health
The Afternoon will also include an opportunity for father work practitioners to provide updates about work across the North East to include fathers and there will be time for networking and sharing ideas and good practice.
There will be some time to discuss the future of the North East Father Work Forum and the development of local city/county/borough wide forums in each of the regions 12 authority areas.
