Every Dad Matters: The "Whys" and "Hows" of Including Men

This workshop will be delivered by David Van der Velde at the Parenting UK Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Conference.

The workshop will introduce some of the main issues relating to work with fathers and male carers in Early Years settings. Participants will be given information about relevant policy and research, the strengths and obstacles that they are likely to come up against and examples of good practice.

David is a trained counsellor and manages the Children North East Fatherhood Project. In 2005 he set up the first Fatherhood Resource Centre in the UK with the aim of supporting organisations to include fathers and male carers in early years, learning and other settings.

Children North East is one of the leaders in the field of father work and has been working to include men in their children’s lives since 1997. For more information visit www.IncludingMen.com
