Supporting Young Fathers – Examples of Promising Practice
12th December 2006, 10am – 4pm
A familiar cry of those working with young fathers is 'how can we find out what is going on in other parts of the country, and what works best?' Although support for young fathers is patchy, the signs are positive as evidence of promising work continues to emerge. This conference will showcase what is currently happening in relation to work with young fathers.
The Trust for the Study of Adolescence (TSA), supported by the Teenage Pregnancy Unit (TPU), has drawn together examples of current work into a new publication Supporting Young Fathers: Examples of Promising Practice.
Projects featured in the book will make presentations at this conference and the book will be launched at this event. All delegates will receive a free copy.
The conference will also provide a structured framework for networking with other delegates. It will interest all those involved in supporting young parents - fathers and mothers.
Topics to be covered will include:
• Recruiting and engaging young fathers
• Working with school-age fathers
